STATE LEVEL

WEIGHTLIFTING

Ms Poorna Shri from B.Tech CSE batch 2021 who represented Vellore District and has won the Gold Medal(71 kg) category in the 24th Tamil Ndadu Senior State weight Lifting Championship held at Salem.VIT is proud that she has been selected to represent Tamil Nadu in National Weight Lifting Championship to be held in January 2022 at Odisha.

BOXING

Big Roar from VIT! time to celebrate the young lioness. We are extremely happy to announce that Ms.Devadarshini has represented Vellore District and won the Gold Medal in the 4th South zone Divisonal level Boxing Competition held at Coimbatore.

HIGHEST CTC

A proud moment for VIT because for the first time one of its Mechanical Engineering students (Rajat Sablok) has got a CTC of 50+ LPA after getting selected by MTX Group. Earlier, it was only CSE students who used to get such higher packages. It's indeed a great honor for VIT and our student RajatSablok for being the first Mechanical Engineer to receive such a high CTC. VIT wishes Rajat for his great future and is confident that he will always be successful in all his endeavors

SELECTED AS DELEGATE

Congratulations to Adarsh Kumar Singh 18BEC0622 for being selected as a delegate for the IIM Bangalore’s Vista – Young Leaders’ Summit 2021, as a flagship annual international business summit from 2nd August to 8th August 2021.

FORBES'30

A proud moment for VIT as one of our student, Sakshi Mishra, has been named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 achievers for her immense contribution as an Artificial Intelligence Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). She has also been recognized as an energy rising star by NREL. VIT is extremely proud of Sakshi and wishes her all the best in all her future endeavours.

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

WiCS Hackathon

Hearty Congratulations to our students' team of 4 members who have participated in the 5th edition of WiCS Hackathon 2021, an international hackathon for universities sponsored by Digi-Key, and organized by MLH and The University of Texas at Austin, and bagged 2nd Place (overall) as well as the Best Hardware Hack award in the contest.It was a 24-hour long hackathon from 06-07th March, having women and non-binary participants, with a focus on solving social and educational issues. 40+ teams from all over the world were shortlisted for participation

Best Paper Award

Hearty Congratulations to Akshat (18BEC0618), Vartika Nanda (18BEC0624) and Ayaansh Singhal (18BEC0611) on winning the Best Paper Award for the paper titles “AT89S52-Microcontroller Based Elevator with UV-C disinfection to prevent the transmission of COVID-19” at the ICPS 2020 Conference organized by Advanced Computing Research Society (ACRS) & IEEE Computer Society, IIT Madras. “Getting a Paper published is the dream of every young researcher. This award will keep reminding us that there is an immense possibility and we must never stop questioning", says one of the awardee.
